Mark Kavanagh otherwise known as Rasher is a self taught artist working in his preferred medium of oil paint, oil pastel, chalk pastel and mixed media. He has also extended his work with supporting installations to create the narrative to engage with the viewer. After attracting interest with several self mounting shows, he has held successful solo shows in Dublin and Los Angeles. He was also an invited artist at the Royal Hibernian Academy Dublin 2015. His principal subject has always been the human figure in its natural environment filtered, structured and simplified to focus on the organic complexity of the human spirit.
